CIS Announces Current Version of I-9 to Remain in Use Beyond June 30, 2009

The Immigration Service has announced that the current version of the Employment Eligibility Form I-9 will remain valid for use beyond June 30, 2009. The current form was set to expire June 30 and a revised version of the form was to be implemented, but the implementation of the revised Form I-9 has been delayed.

The Form I-9 must be completed by employers for all newly hired employees. The purpose of the form is to verify the identity and work authorization of all newly hired employees.
