Due to the technical issues being experienced with the DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Application, some US Consulates have resumed accepting the DS-156 and DS-157 until these technical issues are resolved. Applicants should confirm whether the consular post is accepting the DS-160 or the DS-156 and DS-157 via its website. The State Department had planned to deploy the DS-160 fully web-based nonimmigrant visa application worldwide at all US consular posts by April 30, 2010.
For posts requiring the DS-160, please complete the online application with great caution. In the event that incorrect information is entered an applicant could receive a visa refusal/denial, resulting in ineligibility for the Visa Waiver Program. In addition, be sure to save the information frequently, since the system will time out every 15 minutes and unsaved data can be lost.
