The AILA Verification and Documentation Liaison Committee reports that ICE I-9 Inspection Activity may be increasing. A Notice of Inspection issued on August 3, 2010 by ICE requests 11 different immigration and employment documents over a three year period. Examples include lists of all current and terminated employees, copies of quarterly wage and hour reports, tax statements, company hiring policy, and a list of all contractors, recruiters, and temporary employment agencies. This Notice of Inspection provided the employer with six days of notice to gather and organize these documents before the inspection by ICE.
