USCIS Announces “Bundling” Option for Filing Certain L-1B Petitions

November 3, 2011

The USCIS has announced an option for employers to file “bundled” petitions – that is, multiple petitions filed together – for L-1B employee beneficiaries. The goal for the USCIS is to “streamline and improve the adjudication process.”

L-1B (Intracompany Tranferee – Specialized Knowledge) petitions can be bundled together if the employee beneficiaries will be 1) working at the same location; and 2) performing the same duties.

In addition, the petitioner may include L-1As (Managers) in the same bundled L-1B package if the L-1A Manager(s) will be managing the L-1B employee beneficiaries working on the same project.

Extension petitions may be bundled with initial petitions if they meet the above criteria. And, I-539 extension applications for spouses and children may be included in the bundled package.

Each petition must include ALL supporting documentation, and each petition will be processed individually.
