On April 23, 2009, the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) announced that there was a problem with the interface tool of the Immigration Service's "Case Status Online" system. The technical problem caused delays in the entry of new receipt numbers into the system, as well as in the updating of status information for filings already entered in the system. The problem was recurring and AILA was not given a time estimate as to when the interface tool would be fixed.
