Mr. Ungar is a Certified Specialist in Immigration
& Nationality Law by the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization
and has been practicing immigration law since 1989. He is a graduate of Reed
College and the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York. He has been
admitted to both the California and New York State Bars.
He has written articles on various issues of immigration law for American Immigration Lawyers
Association and Practicing Law Institute publications. He has also lectured at
meetings and conventions organized by American Immigration Lawyers Association,
the Practicing Law Institute, and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center. He was
the Chair of the Northern California branch of the American Immigration Lawyers
Association 1998 to 1999 and is a Lecturer in Immigration Law at the Santa Clara
University School of Law. Mr. Ungar was an assistant district attorney in New
York County from 1985 to 1988 where he prosecuted general felonies.
