Ms. Bright has been a California Certified
Specialist in Immigration & Nationality Law since 1989 and has practiced
immigration law since 1982. She is a graduate of Stanford University and
received her J.D. degree from U.C. Hastings College of Law in 1980. She has
written numerous articles for American Immigration Lawyers Association, the
Immigrant Legal Resource Center, and National Lawyers Guild publications. She
also co-authored the chapter on immigration law in Sexual Orientation and the
Law, published by the Clarke Boardman Company.
Ms. Bright served as a member
of the American Immigration Lawyers Association Task Force on
Suspension/Cancellation of Removal established in 1996. She also litigated
Sun Moon Star Advanced Power, Inc. v. INS, 773 F. Supp. 1373 (N.D. Cal.
1990), reported 68 Interpreter Releases 1824 (Dec. 16, 1990) successfully
challenging INS interpretation of regulations regarding "affiliate" in L-1 and
immigrant multinational managerial/executive transfer cases.
Ms. Bright is fluent in Spanish.
