USCIS Releases Updated Count for the H-1B U.S. Advanced Degree Cap

The US IS recently provided a new count of the H-1B U.S. advanced degree numbers used as of June 23, 2006. Of the 20,000 H-1Bs available for persons holding U.S. advanced degrees (Masters or higher), 11,918 cases have been filed. In addition, the USCIS has an estimated 800 unreceipted petitions awaiting data entry in this category that are not reflected in the numbers on filing. Approximately 7,000 H-1B numbers remain available.
