H-1B Cap for Advanced Degree Applicants Appears to Have Been Reached

On July 27, US Citizenship & Immigration Service updated the current cap count with new data gathered as of July 26, 2006. The number of approved and receipted pending petitions now has reached 19,390. An additional 655 petitions have been received but not yet receipted. The allocation of 20,000 H-1B visas for those with advanced degrees from U.S. institutions apparently has now been met.
